Swiss Space Tour Emilia Romagna 2025

Meetings between the Italian and Swiss aerospace ecosystems during National Space Day

The Swiss Space Tour Emilia-Romagna 2025 aims to build an operational bridge between the aerospace ecosystem of Emilia-Romagna and that of Switzerland, in the framework of the National Space Day.

The mission is organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland in collaboration with ART-ER, the Emilia-Romagna Region, and the Consulates General of Italy in Zurich and Geneva. Its aim is to bring together research centres, universities, startups, and companies active in space technologies.

The Swiss Space Tour Emilia-Romagna

Mission Objectives

The exploratory mission pursues two strategic goals:

Strengthen collaboration between academic and industrial ecosystems

Promoting partnerships between universities, research institutes, startups, and aerospace companies in both regions, with particular focus on R&D programmes, orbit-based technologies, and emerging innovation areas.

Position Emilia-Romagna as a strategic partner in Switzerland

Strengthening the region’s reputation as a reliable and qualified party for technological cooperation, industrial exchange, and European-level innovation projects.

Key Themes of the Mission

The meetings will address the core segments of the aerospace industry:

01.Academic research and scientific cooperation

Collaborations between Italian university hubs (CNR, universities, research centres) and Swiss institutions such as ETH Zurich, EPFL Lausanne, and the UZH Space Hub.

02.Innovation and space-tech startups

Joint acceleration models, technology-transfer projects, and space-based applications for industrial and healthcare sectors.

03.Industrial collaboration and technological supply chains

Exploration of potential supply-chain integration between Italian and Swiss companies in the aerospace, electronics, biomedical, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

04.Priority areas
  • Space and health/biomedicine, microgravity research, with involvement from the Emilia-Romagna ClustER Health and the UZH Space Hub
  • Downstream applications and satellite-data usage
  • Solutions for industry, mobility, Earth observation, and security
